Load Testing 50mm Class 18 Threaded PVC

As a drilling contractor we are often asked when pricing deep monitoring well drilling programs about the limits hanging PVC threads for installation. Suppliers are generally unwilling to comment on the load specifications of PVC threads so we put together a rudimentary test to give us some insight into this problem. For this test we used threaded class 18 50mm uPVC on our track mounted geotechnical drilling rig. The results were a big surprise to everyone. We realise this is a rudimentary test and many variables would effect the results and this is not intended to be used for anything other than improving understanding.
