Legion Drilling services has a long history of providing exploration drilling services using both sonic and difficult access diamond coring rigs in most Australian states. Although most of our resources are based in the East Coast in Queensland and New South Wales, we have completed many drilling programs in South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia.

DIFFICULT ACCESS RIGS AND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT

Our rigs are predominately crawler mounted multipurpose machines that are perfect for getting into challenging areas and are setup for diamond drilling, rotary air and rotary mud ensuring that all options are available depending on project requirements.

Our crews have all medicals, training and inductions required for most mining and CSG companies and the rigs are fitted out with safety equipment and maintained at a level ensuring we can get them approved for site with minimal fuss.

4x4 Support vehicles are available and a large variety of water storage, transport and pumping systems to ensure the rig keeps spinning.

CREW TRAINING AND INDUCTIONS

Although it is not specifically required for an exploration drilling company all of our rig operators are licensed class 1 or class 2 water bore drillers. This provides another layer of compliance and project assurance when dealing with sensitive sites. Groundwater protection is always our highest priority and we will deploy drilling methodologies which ensure sensitive aquifers are protected.

Our crews all hold 4x4 driver training, gas test atmospheres, coal board medicals and inductions for Rio Tinto, BHP, Santos, Yancoal and Glencore.

Although production is always a high priority our mining clients choose Legion Drilling for the quality or our project management and safety systems. We provide clients with a significant level of support around logistics, safety and compliance activities.

ABOVE GROUND FLUID SYSTEMS

Where required our drill rigs are all configured to run above ground mud systems and provide a ‘Zero to ground’ setup which ensures highest environmental compliance for an exploration drilling program

Legion Drilling exploration drill rigs can be deployed from Brisbane, Sydney and Townsville. This ensures our mobilisation costs are minimised and support for the site drill crew is never far away.
