BOS 200 Webinar - Activated carbon injection for in-situ remediation

Carbon and biological-based solution to trap & treat petroleum hydrocarbons

BOS 200 - Activated Carbon Injection

We are pleased to invite you to a unique opportunity to learn more about BOS 200®, a pioneering carbon and biological-based solution for in-situ remediation of petroleum hydrocarbons.

Legion Drilling and our US-based partner AST Environmental will run a training webinar on Thursday 11th of February 2021 (10:00-11:30 a.m. AEST time). The principles behind BOS 200® and its successful application in various subsurface settings (from unconsolidated aquifers to fractured bedrock) will be discussed in detail.

The webinar will be presented by Mike Mazzarese (Senior Engineer at AST Environmental) and Duane Guilfoil (President of AST Environmental) and it will include an industry Q&A panel.

What is BOS 200®?
BOS 200® has been implemented in hundreds of sites to effectively treat LNAPL source zones, fuel oxygenates, alcohols, glycols, and cyclic ethers. BOS 200® is a complete system effecting accelerated biodegradation processes on an activated carbon platform that includes:

  • Micro and macro nutrients;

  • Time release terminal electron acceptors, and

  • A blend of facultative organisms designed to flourish from aerobic to anaerobic conditions.

BOS 200® is delivered to the subsurface through the use of high pressure pumps and temporary injection rods driven by Geoprobe direct push machines. In combination with direct imaging tools we have unrivaled capacity to build precision conceptual site models and deliver in-situ remedial solutions.

About AST Environmental
AST Environmental, Inc. (AST) is a multi-disciplinary environmental remediation and contracting company that serves as the National and International Product Distributor for the Remediation Products Inc. (RPI) Trap and Treat®products: BOS 100®, CAT 100®, and BOS 200®.  As the lead for distribution, AST is responsible for project design, product sales, project oversight, and post project data review.

About the presenters
Mike Mazzarese is a Senior Remediation Engineer at AST Environmental and has been involved with in-situ remediation for 20 years. His responsibilities include project management, research and development, remedial assessment and design, field implementation oversight, and post project data analysis. Mike is a dual graduate of Penn State University holding a BS and MS in Environmental Engineering. He has previously worked for Vironex, Regenesis, and URS (AECOM) and is currently based in Colorado, USA.

Duane Guilfoil has been on the AST team since 2003 as the Vice President and is now the President of AST, bringing his experience, expertise, and leadership to his home-state remediation company. Originally from Lexington and alumni of the University of Kentucky, Duane says the most rewarding part of working for AST is helping property owners regain value for their property by eliminating environmental risk.
